We designed and manufactured a gas separator skid for an offshore platform, meeting the stringent requirements of the oil & gas industry in terms of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. This skid reflects our expertise in the engineering and manufacturing of pressure equipment for offshore environments.
A Gas Separator Skid Designed for Offshore Applications
This offshore gas separator skid is intended for gas/liquid separation in a harsh marine environment. It has been developed to operate in hazardous areas and complies with ATEX Directive 2 (3G) – II IIA T3, ensuring safe operation on offshore platforms.
The supply includes a Certificate of Conformity (COC) – Route B, certifying compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, with the involvement of a Notified Body.
Modular Manufacturing for Optimized Offshore Installation
As part of this project, we manufactured a modular gas separator skid, specifically designed to facilitate offshore logistics and installation. The skid is delivered dismantled into three separate sub-assemblies:
- Skid frame, delivered separately
- Pressure vessel, delivered separately
- Process piping assemblies, delivered separately
The skid is delivered dismantled and must pass through a restricted access hatch to enable on-site installation. A detailed reassembly manual is provided to ensure safe and compliant assembly directly at the offshore site.
ASME VIII Div. 1 Pressure Vessel – 2023 Edition
The skid is equipped with a pressure vessel that we designed and manufactured in accordance with ASME Section VIII Division 1 – 2023 Edition. To ensure the highest level of quality, the vessel benefits from:
- Full radiographic testing (FULL RT)
- Weld joint efficiency Z = 1, ensuring optimal mechanical integrity
Pressure Vessel Technical Data
- Design pressure (Pdesign): 80 barg
- Design temperature (Tdesign): 0 °C to +100 °C
- Hydrostatic test pressure: 120 barg (1.5 × design pressure)
The hydrostatic test is carried out in the presence of a Notified Body, in accordance with contractual requirements.
