As part of the construction of a new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) storage tank on the Skikda site, we took part in this major project by providing the lubrication unit, in full compliance with the requirements of the ARH (Hydrocarbons Regulatory Authority).
The lubrication unit, with overall dimensions of 7500 x 2950 x 4692 mm and a total weight of 11.18 tons, was designed according to API 614 – Part 2, which defines the design and performance requirements for lubrication and control systems used with rotating equipment in the oil and gas industry.
This ensures high reliability, operational safety, and ease of maintenance.
Key Technical Features
- Integrated sun protection on the instrument panel and each local transmitter, ensuring durability in hot and dusty environments.
- Gas filter and safety valve certified by ARH, in compliance with the Algerian Hydrocarbons Regulatory Authority requirements for oil and gas installations.
- Baseplate calculations for wind and seismic loads performed according to Algerian seismic standards DTR BC-2.48 and DTR C 2-47 (2013 RNV edition), ensuring full mechanical integrity under extreme conditions.
- Global noise level verification according to ISO 3744, to control acoustic emissions on the industrial site.
- ATEX Zone 2 IIA T3 certification, ensuring safety in explosive atmospheres.
- Bilingual safety labeling (French / Arabic) in full compliance with local regulations.
- Integration of an OELTECHNIK-France oil mist separator, renowned for its reliability in oil/gas separation.
- Double marking 316/316L stainless steel for complete traceability and enhanced corrosion resistance.
- Individual stainless steel 316 sunshields for all transmitters (PT, PDT, TT, LT).
- PMI (Positive Material Identification) carried out on key components – lubrication unit, oil separator, and rundown tank – to ensure full metallurgical compliance.
- 3D model exchange in STEP 214 format at 30% and 60% progress milestones, enabling close coordination with the client in a collaborative design process.
- Detailed structural calculations for lifting, wind, seismic, and snow loads according to client specifications.
- Material procurement restricted to approved sources, ensuring origin traceability and quality compliance.
- U-STAMP (ASME U-Designator) marking required for pressure vessels, certifying compliance with ASME Code Section VIII Division 1.
- Compliance with NAMUR NE 43 recommendation, ensuring compatibility of signal diagnostics with international instrumentation standards.
- C5-H anti-corrosion coating, compliant with ISO 12944, suitable for highly corrosive marine or industrial environments (high humidity, saline or chemical atmosphere).
- Surface preparation and coating inspection performed according to FROSIO standards.
- Packaging with thermoplastic shrink film (SEI 2B) ensuring protection against humidity, dust, and shocks during transport.
Our Expertise in the Oil and Gas
This achievement demonstrates our ability to meet the most demanding Oil & Gas standards while ensuring safety, reliability, and long-term performance of the equipment.
We delivered a solution perfectly suited to the harsh environmental conditions of the Skikda site and fully compliant with both local and international regulations.
Glossary of Standards and Certifications
API 614 Part 2: Standard issued by the American Petroleum Institute, defining requirements for lubrication, sealing, and control oil systems for special-purpose applications in the oil and gas industry.
ARH (Hydrocarbons Regulatory Authority): Algerian regulatory body overseeing the certification and compliance of equipment used in the national hydrocarbons industry.
